You'd be surprised at how many "bros" are into "My Little Pony."
On Sunday, July 1, approximately 4,000 people flocked (or should I say "galloped"?) to "BronyCon Summer 2012" at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, New Jersey. A big chunk of attendees were what you'd call "Bronies" -- males who are proud fans of "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic".
The cartoon is wildly popular among young female audiences, but there are a surprisingly significant number of men who are also fanatics.

According to the New York Post, "Outside the convention center, young men danced and sang along with songs from My Little Pony cartoon that blasted from loud speakers as a video screen on a large truck showed the show's characters. One observer said it almost felt like a Grateful Dead concert."
Pony-themed promotional products filled the inside of the Meadowlands Exposition Center; everything from stuffed animals to hats was available. "My Little Pony" enthusiasts even got the opportunity to meet the voices behind their favorite characters.
Animator Lauren Faust, who created the "Friendship is Magic" series, says the attention the show's received from men is a great thing:
We live in a society where saying that something is for girls is the equivalent to saying that something is stupid, or saying that something isn't worthwhile. I think that's awful and I think that kind of attitude needs to be changed. And these men are doing it. ... They're proud that they're forward-thinking and modern enough to look past this misogynistic attitude.
Do you agree with Faust's position?
