Hooray for the USA! Unemployment Rate Drops

President Barack Obama probably can't wipe that smile off his face right now. The latest national jobs report reveals that unemployment dropped considerably in September, bringing the jobless rate to a four-year low.

Reuters reports that a considerable surge in hiring "pushed the jobless rate down by 0.3 percentage point to its lowest level since January 2009," when Obama took office.

For Obama's re-election campaign team, the news couldn't have come at a better time. A CNN poll found that most people who watched the first presidential debate on Wednesday night called Romney the winner. But an improving labor market may help improve Obama's post-debate favorability.

Regardless of political leaning, we can all agree that a stronger economy is good thing. Hooray for the USA!

Chuck Norris' Anti-Obama Video

Actor and martial arts expert Chuck Norris released an anti-Obama "Get out the Vote" video over the weekend, encouraging like-minded individuals to head to the polls this November. "We are here to talk about a growing concern we all share," says Norris in the YouTube clip. "If we look to history, our great country and freedom are under attack."

According to Time, Norris hopes the video will revive the Republican Party. Norris and his wife, Gena Norris, tell viewers that too many party members stayed home during the 2008 race between Obama and Sen. John McCain, allowing Obama to win. Check the YouTube promo below:

Whether or not you agree with Norris' opinion, you've got to admit his video is not the best. The camera is shaky, his voice sounds uneasy and his wife's nods and comments seem a bit too contrived. He probably should have just handed out campaign giveaways instead.

Could Romney's Running Mate be a Woman?

July 5, 2012 04:46 by Brandon

It's clear that Mitt Romney will be the Republican candidate for presidency in November, but who will the former Massachusetts Gov. choose as his running mate?

According to his wife, Ann Romney, it just might be a woman.  "We've been looking at that," she told CBS in an interview that aired today.  And that might be a smart choice for the presidential hopeful -- the Washington Post reports: "...polls show that Romney still badly trails Obama among women and putting one on the ticket — or even just raising the possibility of a female running mate — could help carve into that support."

Top prospects include New Hampshire Republican Sen. Kelly Ayotte and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley. However, several men have been considered, as well.

The Romneys spent the past week in New Hampshire where the CBS interview was taped.  The break from the campaign trail will help Romney prepare for a final push of appearances and campaign giveaways before the 2012 Republican National Convention this August.

If Romney picked a female to be on his ticket this fall, would it influence your vote?
