Happy Father's Day

Today I received an early Father's Day gift in the mail from my mom.

It was a branded book that she had gotten in her travels, but it was very fitting for this upcoming weekend.  It's called "101 Secrets a Good Dad Knows."

It has fun facts on everything from how to tie a bow tie to how to carve a whistle. This weekend is going to be a blast! Not sure I will get through all 101 secrets, but I will make sure for the next 101 days I do something special with my kids.

This week Massachusetts is getting hit with a heat wave. And, as a typical Mass. resident, I've learned to never take the weather reporters seriously. They say a snowstorm is coming and we are getting like a foot and it turns out to be three to five inches.

This week they said we were going to hit 90+-degree temperatures.  We were just coming off a few days of rain and it is June, too early to get really hot.

The A/C window units were in storage and the fans were as well.  Today they were right: it hit 100 degrees at 2:00 p.m., just in time for my lunch break. Needless to say I took full advantage of my closet full of embroidered apparel.

I felt like I had more costume changes today than a Cher concert. But I was smart enough to find a performance polo that was branded from a past golf tournament I played in.

Honey, where is the number for...?

It's on the fridge!

I would be lost without my fridge magnets with logos from different businesses and organizations. They are my rolodex. We have everything from the local pizza place to the emergency contact numbers for the pediatrician's office and the local police and fire.

They used to be nicely organized on the side of the fridge, but now they are used to hold up the artwork from my three-year-old. We are running out of space, so I think it is time to buy a bigger fridge.

Go Team!

My hometown favorites made the playoffs and one more win and they are into the next round.  There has been a lot of turmoil in the past months so it would be awesome to see them make it to the cup!

There has been some very special custom sports equipment released for this playoff series. My favorite is the foam finger. I remember getting my first one and I still want one every event I go to.

Kick back and relax

Kick back, relax and let the games begin.

I am officially declaring the beginning of summer. This will cause the sun to shine, the birds to sing, the rain to stay away and the weather to never dip below 60 degrees until fall. YEAH, I WISH I HAD THIS KIND OF POWER!!!

But you do have this type of flexibility with Motivators' outdoor promotional items. We have all kinds of great items from sunglasses to cooler bags, chairs, grills, etc.  My favorite is the deluxe cooler chair -- a chair and cooler in one -- um perfect!!! Buy now and be ready for that first BBQ of the year or the first concert tailgate.

My father in law is the toughest guy to buy presents for and he does a lot of generous things for us -- especially giving us a hand with our house in Long Beach, NY that got hit hard by Hurricane Sandy.

The only reason he is tough to buy things for is because when he wants something he just gets it. One thing I know he doesn't have is imprinted golf balls.  He is an avid golfer and I think he would get a kick out of having his name or image of his face on the balls.

Dear Diary

As a Dad of three, I have started a diary for each one to document events of their life starting on their birth date.  Sometimes it is a daily effort other times it is weekly, but I always highlight the big moments like rolling over, crawling, walking, first words, etc. Recently my wife and I had a chance to go back and read some of the entries, some of the entries are hilarious and others touching.  We have some great promotional diaries available to document your next life changing event... or others just to make sure you know what day of the week it is.

Winter is on its way out and it is time for spring and my personal favorite SUMMAH!

I recently moved into a new home with a great yard for my kids to play in. I am super excited about the endless possibilities. Bocce, horseshoes, BBQing, etc. Of course, I will see what kinds of outdoor promotions are offered for our first big party.

Babies, babies and more babies

'Tis the season for new babies, or it may be just us at Motivators. We welcomed a few new members to the Motivators family this month! (Well, really this week.)

Three exciting births and the promotional gifts have been running wild. We made some really great items for the proud grandparents of twins and I am sure there will be plenty more personalized items for the newborns.

I know the joke is that newborns don't come with manuals, so it is always a trial period for everyone to get used to each other. But there are some great books with helpful hints, like "Health: Dr. Spock's Baby and Child Care."

Happy St. Patrick's Day! We are heading to south Boston on Sunday to see the parade. It is a new tradition for us we have been going the past 4 years.  This year should be interesting with the 3 year old and twin boys in the stroller.  We actually planned ahead and bought some promotional products with some shamrock graphics as a thank you gift for all the people we run into :).  We bought these cute 4 leaf clover stres sballs. Wish us luck!
