There are only three months left before the final "Twilight" movie hits theaters, and actress Kristen Stewart has really messed up promoters' plans. As advertisers get ready to push "Breaking Dawn: Part 2," which stars Stewart and long-time boyfriend Robert Pattinson, they'll have to work around the couple's recent love troubles.
Last week, Stewart and her "Snow White and the Huntsman" director, Rupert Sanders, admitted to having an affair. And according to Fox News, it's expected to affect press schedules, interviews, and maybe even the film's revenue.
"The scandal is almost certainly going to have them shying away from the direct glare of the media," said entertainment reporter Scott Huver. "I would be bet that they’ll do few to possibly no formalized interviews for the final film, except the most elite outlets and under tightly controlled circumstances. Other than that, expect carefully timed photo ops on the various red carpet premieres, and probably not together, unless some kind of peace can be brokered."
But what about the fans? Those who have followed the "Twilight" saga for years feel connected not only to the characters, but to the actors themselves. In fact, they're taking to Twitter "to express their shock and disappointment, as well as offer their condolences to Pattinson," reports ABC News. Could Stewart's actions negatively affect the box office?
Some argue that die-hard fans will see the movie regardless. Still, with awkward interviews and press appearances in store, they'd better invest in some really cool promotional products!
