A few months ago, I decided it was time to take control of my shifting teeth. Although I did have braces as a youngster (see picture below - thanks Mom!), I decided I should not wait any longer because they would only get worse. I found an amazing Orthodontist, Dr. Elaine Deroode, that is actually right near my apartment, and she suggested Invisalign. I was able to see a virtual representation of the path my teeth would take (which by the way, was totally awesome). After realizing it was the right choice for me, even though some people (Laurie and Rachel) might disagree as they prefer braces, I started about 6 months ago and so far the results are incredible. I cannot believe that my teeth are shifting back into place and becoming straight again without causing me any aggravation or pain.
After being in New York for a while, I was long overdue for a check up, so I was totally ready to get my next few aligners at my appointment this morning. I was delighted to walk in and see that Dr. Deroode was running a Back to School contest! It was like I bumped into a blogging opportunity! She had a container filled with branded pencils, and she wanted her patients to guess how many were inside. The prize is a $50 Amex card and the winner will be revealed on October 1st. What a fabulous way to get kids back into the school mode and also have a little fun! I know what my guess was, but feel free to share yours!
