I really love to try new things, but sometimes there is something that you rediscover. I have recently rediscovered my love of hooping (formerly hula-hooping!). Each weekend on the beach, there have been an increasing number of hoop dancers and sellers. They all hang out together with their hoops going, and for someone with a childhood love of the hula hoop, it is impossible for me to resist giving it a whirl! So every time I have seen a hoop recently, I have picked it up and given it my best shot which is not bad at all! After witnessing this a few times my dear friends bought me a hoop made by the famous Sammy Hoops of Long Beach. So now I have added to my late night gardening with back yard hooping! I have a fellow hooper who joined me for a 3 hour play date! We checked out some videos on line, and I have gotten very good at a trick called the drop down where you spin the hoop over your head and drop it to your waist with a spin for fun. I can also now do the corkscrew, which is a combination of the drop down, and then a new move to bring it back up. Check out the drop down on YouTube for yourself!
