My two nieces came to visit this summer - one from Germany and one from Turkey. They have been here for about two months now. Yesterday, one returned back home to Hannover and the other one is going back to Istanbul next week. While they were here, we visited many of the the standard tourist attractions - the Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, and Time Square, just to name a few - and also took a few small road trips to the Poconos, Atlantic City, and upstate New York. Throughout this whole time, between 3 iPhones and 2 digital cameras, we took a total of over 800 pictures and videos.
During their whole trip here, I was constantly thinking about what to get them as a going away gift. After searching long and hard, I came up with nothing! Then, I had a brilliant idea. How about I save all of the data from everyone's phones and cameras onto my laptop, buy each of them a promotional flash drive and save every step of their trip on there. Not only would they be able to take with them all the great memories we had together, but they can also use the flash drive over and over, for whatever they please.
So after slaving long hours over the computer (about 45 minutes) saving everything on there and loading them onto the flash drives, I gave them their little gifts on Sunday, and they absolutely loved it. Now, knowing how much they loved the idea, I will be certain to use this gift idea again for other friends and family!
